Kabul jan
A nice sound about Kabul jan. I was not born in Kabul but I love it more then any city in the world. I have been to kabul many times. Kabul has been destroyed, by Russians, and by civil war. In 30 years of war, It may take next 30 years to build Kabul jan back the way it was in 1970s. We would never be in peace unless we have Our Durand Line Back. Durand Line Belongs to Afghanistan and it has always been. There are 12 Million Afghans on the Other side of the So called International Border. But Its not International Border. Pakistan is british made country just like Israel was created by American (In fact Israel Is fare better then Pakistan at least they have freedome of speach). Pakistan is the dirty mark of Asia. Unless they give us our People back or It needs to be wiped out of Map. Pakistan is not an Islamic Nation. Afghans From Both side of the Border thought this would be Iqbals dream an Islamic nation, which would soon reach Turkey but this Pakistan was a dirty name not a clean name. It has puttin the Pure/clean name of Islam into dirt. And here we muslims suffer the most. As long As Pakistan occupied our Land, and killing our people (Wazeristan), we would never stop, we shell do Jehad. Pakistan is very aware of this And that's why they would kept trying to break Afghan hearts and the Afghan Nation so that we can never turn our eyes on Pashtunistan. Pashtunistan (Balochistan/NWFP) is always there and always would be in our blood. For My people. Points are clear ...

Kabul Beauty School - Afghanistan
Dec 2003 Under the Taliban, Afghan women risked everything to be beautiful. Now the US fashion industry is helping them open their own beauty parlours and achieve financial independence. Sima Calkin has not seen her home country of Afghanistan for 23 years. Now she is returning to advise local women about running their own beauty salons. It's all thanks to a new scheme aimed at restoring dignity and self respect to the women of Afghanistan. But the war ravaged country she flies into bears no resemblance to the lush paradise of her childhood. "I am in shock ... it's mind boggling to see what has happened," she despairs. She is also racked by guilt for having abandoned her country in its hour of need. By teaching the women to become beauticians, she hopes she can make amends. And there are plenty of women desperate to be taught these valuable new skills. Beauticians in Kabul earn much more than doctors or labourers. In a country where 60% of women are widows and many are the main breadwinners, working as beauticians offers a real opportunity to improve their lives. Terror in Kabul as new government sworn in
As Hamid Karzai swears in members of his new cabinet, the Taliban take the opportunity to show their presence with a major bombing in downtown Kabul. International forces on the ground in Afghanistan would like to turn security operations over to the Afghan National Army, but as long as these attacks keep happening, that seems less and less likely.

Lily Allen - Kabul Shit (HQ) + w/Lyrics
LYRICS : There's a hole in our logic There's a hole in the sky And one day just like magic We're all going to die 'Cause we didn't turn the lights off And we didn't take the bus Even though we know we should have Oh, silly old us Well we should have recycled And saved our resources While there's still someone elses Someone call the armed forces And we'll blame it on terror Also known as religion But we shouldn't feel guilt For protecting our children Excuse me, sir But is this what they call denial Just to carry on regardless We'll only do it for a while We'll carry on straight down the line Down the road to nowhere Do you know where it is leading us And do we even wanna go there I don't have the answers I don't know where we start Start to pick up all the pieces Of everything we've torn apart Now, you'd think that we'd be grateful For the fact we've got a choice Instead we throw it back at people Who don't even have a voice And the teachers always told us Told us we should love thy neighbor And my mother always told me Told me I should vote [new?] labor But I don't know who to trust And I just find it all confusing All as useless as each other Past the point of being amusing Excuse me, sir But is this what they call denial Just to carry on regardless We'll only do it for a while We'll carry on straight down the line Down the road to nowhere Do you know where it is leading us And do we even wanna go there Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Excuse me, sir But is this what they call ...

Conference on Kabul's future prompts lockdown
A major conference with leaders and envoys from over 60 countries is being held in Kabul, Afghanistan's capital, on Monday to discuss plans to hand over more responsibility for the country's security to the Afghan government in its conflict with Taliban fighters. The meeting is part of a bid by the Afghan government to follow a process of transition from dependence on support from foreign forces to running the country independently as tens of thousands of US-led Nato troops are expected to eventually return home. Top delegates attending the largest international conference to ever take place in the city include US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon. In preparation for the meeting, Kabul has been turned into a fortress as Nato and Afghan security forces flood the streets amid security fears. Mark Sedwill, Nato's top civilian representative in Afghanistan, said "insurgents" would try to launch an attack and no amount of security preparations could be enough. "We have to prepare ourselves for the fact that the insurgents are going to seek to disrupt this," Sedwill said. Nato helicopters will also be circling over the city in a "show of force" to try and deter an attack, said Lieutenant Commander Katie Kendrick, a spokeswoman for Nato-led forces. But with the city put in lockdown, daily life for Afghan civilians has been severely disrupted. As James Bays reports from Kabul, even residents seeking vital medical attention are being turned ...

Kabul quiet as Karzai takes up office - 19 Nov 09
Security forces have locked down Afghanistan's capital for the inauguration for Hamid Karzai as Afghanistan's new president, attended by representatives of about 40 nations. Karzai faces a host of challenges as he takes up the presidency for a second five-year term, including demands from world powers that he do more to fight corruption. But among those Afghans who ventured on to the streets amid the security crack down, opinion was divided. Al Jazeera's David Chater reports from Kabul.
